Paris is one of the world's great cities—and an insider's view makes it so much more rewarding! Here are some tips I give my members about a few "hidden corners" in Paris. I work closely with our concierge team to make sure each member has the Paris experience that's perfect for them.
- Our concierge recommends a personal shopper who can teach you the secrets of French style, and can even help you bring home an entire Paris-inspired wardrobe if you desire. Or let her be your guide to the ins and outs of the Marché aux Puces, where you can find unique antique and vintage treasures—if you know how to look.
- If culinary adventure is in your plans, be sure to bring a copy of Patricia Wells' Food Lover's Guide to Paris. Of course, it lists the renowned street market at the Rue Clèr, just a block from our apartments, as one of the city's great food destinations. More than a guidebook, it has a handy culinary dictionary, so you don't order sweetbreads (ris) when you thought you were ordering rice (riz).
- For an intimate dining experience, try dining at a celebrated chef's "second restaurant." Your concierge can let you know about these superb culinary treasures run by the same famed chefs who run "household name" restaurants. You'll enjoy the same magnificent quality cuisine, without the tourist crowds or hype.
- Traveling with children? The Jardin d'Acclimatation is a truly wonderful park that offers amusement rides, family-friendly cafes and restaurants, activities and a playground that's out of this world. This is the perfect spot for your children to burn off some of their energy, and to make your Paris vacation a memory they'll treasure as much as you do.
- Exclusive Resorts offers two very different experiences in Paris. Our residences in the Hotel Raphael offer luxurious, effortless travel, with hotel staff attending to every detail. (Perfect for a long romantic weekend!) Our apartments near the Eiffel Tower let you live life as a very fortunate Parisian, walking to the nearby street market and picking up a baguette and a few perfect plums for breakfast. Of course, both offer full concierge service to attend to every detail of your Paris vacation.
